The dawn of the new millennium got up on the Country tortured by a long fratricidal war. One of that Countries of which few speaks in Italy and in the World.
But it is not of War, Hunger, Poverty that we want to speak to you on the contrary, as in all the other itineraries we will make you know this Country through art, curiosity, nature, traditions, landscapes and cultural initiatives.
A Country that the pride, the tenacity and the love of a people for his own Fatherland he has known how to conduct first to the independence and then toward the economic rebirth and her social revaluation.

Asmara, capital in the Eritrea, is situated in the highlands zone to 2372 meters high, it has been enjoying the whole year of a pleasant spring climate for the sunny days with fresh nights and it is considered among the safest capitals to the world. Copts, Catholics and Moslems from centuries cohabit in a sound model of harmony weaving their own habits and traditions. The influence of the Italian colonization is still it not only foresees in the architecture of the buildings but also in the variety of the culinary proposals with cappuccino, spaghetti and sweets in the first row. While in the daily lexicon often to affirm the importance of the sentence are introduced Italian terms... and will feel you say “Benvenuti in Eritrea (Welcome in Eritrea)... WELCOME TO KEREN (ERITREA) - video itinerary - 2 -
It is soon morning when with a grungy van for the transport of the local population we leave Asmara to Keren, destination of this itinerary, that we will reach later around three hours of trip.

Keren, situated to around 90 kms from the capital it is one of the most important centres of commerce and agricultural of the whole Eritrea. Situated between the highland and the coast Keren, enjoys of a mild climate with temperatures that oscillate among the 20-25°C. The city centre is studded of numerous shops of artisans where nice souvenirs can be found. The Italian-Eritrean Military cemetery of the “Heroes “, kept as a beautiful garden, it picks up the corpses of Ascari and fallen Italians during the 1941 bloody war among the army English and that Italian. To visit we suggest you the unusual Our Lady's Sanctuary of Mariam Dearit drawn inside a baobab, that seems has thaumaturgic powers. While if you are in the city on Monday don't lose you the coloured market of the animals where dealers of all the ethnic groups are assembled for selling or to exchange dromedaries and other types of livestock. The birdwatchers can admire the big nests of birds set among the tall trees of the city avenues. Keren, has receptive structures of middle level that can satisfy the demands of the Eritrean population and also of a foreign tourist.

ERITREA - ON THE ROAD TO SENAFE - video itinerary - 3 -
One morning of end January, while children already skip about for road and the air it is still fresh, provided of the inseparable permissions we leave Asmara directed to Senafe, to the southern frontier with Ethiopia, that we will reach later over four hours of trip. Without vaunting or historical souvenirs, we take the ex-road of the victory or the empire or from the thousand curves, that once united the capital of the colony Eritrea to that Ethiopian. This video is an itinerary through colours, sounds and ethnic curiosity realized only with the purpose of making curios and to attract more possible tourists to discover the beauties of a variegated and rich landscape of naturalistic affairs, archaeological and also wanting historical.

ERITREA - ON THE ROAD TO SENAFE - video itinerary - 4 -
In this as in other videos we have been concerned to document the beauty of contrasting colors and images in different seasons alternate in Eritrea. The camels with their slouching gait also meet just outside Asmara but are most common along the coastal range features a hot climate, while donkeys are more resilient to fatigue altitude are more frequent on the plateau. Along the ancient railway built by the Italians a puffing steam train has begun to carry tourists in a very interesting scenario, and then with great curiosity we followed an alternative route through an area of rainforest, with views very different from what we can be expected at this latitude. After Massawa, we visit the seaside resort of Gurgussum, concluding the tour with the observation of birds on the shoreline of the coast Eritrea have found their preferred range.
